HubbuyCN mistakes that cost real money
None of what follows is a secret. All of it is published on the official site, usually on a help page nobody reads until something has already gone wrong. The point of this page is to move that reading earlier.
Seven traps, in the order you can fall into them
Assuming the price on the card is the price you pay
A product card records what somebody paid at some point. Your total adds domestic shipping, international freight and possibly customs. If you budget from the catalogue number you will be short every time.
Buying six when you wanted one
1688 listings carry seller minimum order quantities. The per unit price looks wonderful precisely because you are expected to buy a batch. HubbuyCN flags this in its own guide, and it still catches people.
Expecting the free check to test the thing
The inspection covers model, style and size. It states that authenticity, function and quality are outside its scope for electronics and digital goods, and that sealed packaging is not opened. Photographs of a sealed box are photographs of a sealed box.

One partial defence: the service guarantee filters on the search page let you favour sellers offering returns. Checked 1 Aug 2026. Letting the storage clock run out
300 days on a normal parcel, with a reminder at day 270. After that HubbuyCN states the goods are treated as abandoned. Worse, a parcel that cannot be matched to your account gets 60 days from signature and is then destroyed with no further notice.
Forwarding a parcel without completing the tracking number
That is exactly how a box becomes unmatchable. The forwarding form asks for courier, tracking number, product link, name, unit price and quantity for a reason.

Every field marked required here is required for a reason. Checked 1 Aug 2026. Shipping one heavy box because it felt efficient
Confirm the selected route’s current weight and size limits for the packed contents. Compare combined and separate parcel quotes. Splitting a purchase does not remove import requirements or establish personal-use status.
Signing for a damaged parcel and dealing with it later
The receipt guidance is strict. Inspect the outer packaging before signing, and if it is damaged, check it in front of the courier and either note it or refuse. If you sign first, you have two working days to supply evidence, and 72 hours from signature to raise anything else. After a normal signature HubbuyCN states the process is closed.
What is genuinely outside anyone control
The official pages are blunt that delays, taxes, damage, confiscation and loss can happen in international transit, and that HubbuyCN cannot control third party couriers or foreign customs. The compensation page then lists nine situations with no payout, including force majeure, confiscation of prohibited goods, and the case where the outer packaging arrives intact and unopened but the contents are short.
That last one is worth reading twice, because it is the scenario most people assume is automatically covered.
